Favorite sources for Japanese Maples and other Maples.

I have a slightly off topic question as I have recently become an addicted JM collector with the hopes of dabbling in Bonsai soon. Are there any online forums specific to JM collecting and cultivating? There are a lot of gardening forums, and this forum is great, just wondering if there is a forum with a lot of JM chatter in general.

Also, I have had great experiences ordering online shipped to my house (CA) from MrMaple, Maple Ridge Nursery, MapleStone, and I have an order on the way from Conifer Kingdom. All have been great customer service and the trees have been in fair shape due to time of year and heat in my area. All have recovered well, and all sellers have answered my newby questions.

Are you looking to buy a particular cultivar, or just plain Japanese Maples?

How many are you looking to buy? If you don't need a particular cultivar and you're buying more than a couple, I'd suggest looking into farms that have bulk seedlings.

I've bought various trees from each of these and have had good experiences. I've gotten batches of 25 trident & japanese maple for about $100. There are many other farms too, but I generally prefer ones that are local or at least have a similar climate.
Which one were you able to get batch trident from? That’s exactly what I am looking for

I may be a little biased because I have started working with them, but you can’t beat https://maplesnmore.com/. I have buying from them for years before I started working there, great prices and owners. The plus side is we started getting bonsai started at the nursery, if you don’t see it contact us and we can try and get it.

On the East Coast I like:

Mr. Maple
J&G's Japanese Maple Nursery (online store = www.jrsmaples.com)
Maples n More

I have been to all three in person, and they are all worth a visit. All three do a significant online business. Additionally, all three have trees at their nursery that are not listed online, and all three carry non-maple inventory, though their focus is Japanese maples.

I'm near Montreal (40min from US border), and ship across Canada & USA, and specialize in Japanese Maple (as well as Ume and 'rare' deciduous material)
