Put mouse traps on them. Tiny little bird legs break easily. If they can't stand they can't scratch in the dirt can they? They can't even land,just fly. Until they cant.

I've got these guys that dig through my trees to get to the organic fertilizer. Gonna have to lay off the organic fertilizer when my little Iguana Hunter heads north in two weeks.

Hardware cloth sometimes is expensive. I know a few folks who just get some of the gutter protection stuff (Snap-in Gutter Filter PVC Gutter Screen). It is plastic and easy to cut. And did I say cheap? Check it out at Lowes or whereever is your favorite.

What I showed in the photos is aluminum window screen. It wasn't expensive either.

Merry Christmas! These things have been hanging on my trees for a week and have worked like a charm, so far. I took the screen off of this tree and the moss is un-disturbed.
