Copper Beech Raft

On a hillside sounds interesting. I was thinking about this aspect with my raft. Having an uneven soil level would be fun!
yeh it would work on a slab of sorts. China mist pottery do slabs that can be heaped up at one end.

Amazing stuff here. You guys (&gals) always continue to amaze and delight me .... and with my favorite tree in the entire world, the Copper Beech. If there were a heaven it would be loaded with these trees.
Always wanted to have a decent raft, the recent inspo came from this vid

still some way to go, as i dont have any roots yet! 😁

Thank you for posting this. I will watch it in its entirety within the next few days.

This is one of two European Copper Beech picked up from a nursery.
Inspired by the recent Mirai stream of a hornbeam raft i went in search of suitable material.
Ill begin a layer over the next few days..

This is how i would envision the tree to sit on the soil
the layer will be made somewhere in the right bottom corner, at a slant..
there are a load of side branches that could potentially be wired upwards and used...
