So of the successful layers ive seen on Beech, theyre not using pure moss...
in both you can see that most moss is only on the surface and the roots are mostly growing into soil.
This layer was performed by Andrea merriggioli. On a European beech which lives in the UK. I messaged him on FB, this is what he said:
