Complete Noob but the bug has bitten

Lessons i personally learned was spending more time and money on better material rather than material that will take forever to fix.
I've recently had this aha moment as well.

I know someone said I must keep updates on the bougie, so I have taken a few pictures on what it looks like now. Waiting for the proper time to prune and shape so it's a bit untidy but it's popped off.

It struggled for a while but in such a big pot I have only been watering ever 3rd day this has had a drastic change on the amount of flowers I recieved.

Looks a little chlorotic. I would hit it with a dose or two of Mir-acid or Miracle Gro for acid loving plants.

Hello. New member, first post.

I got the bug over the winter. My husband and I belong to a charity that puts tree saplings as center pieces every year. Hubby brings them home. Last year it was 3 ponderosa pine, this year it was 4 white spruce. We live on a tiny little city lot, so what am I supposed to do with 7 trees that naturally get to 60-200’ tall? Bonsai!

I’ve just bought some trainer pots and put the white spruce in the pots. Have two set straight up, one tilted to work towards a windswept, and the 4th I have bent in a high arch and plan to train it onto a modified raft (not on the ground like a typical raft, but I plan to put either a little scene or geode under the arch.

Hubby also bought me one of the seed kits that I saw everyone lambasting in another thread. So far only the Black Locust have sprouted & one that might be a black pine? It was amongst the black locust so I’m not sure if it’s a seed that went wandering during watering or a weed. The Black pine are the seeds planted in the next row. To thank me for my review on Amazon, they sent me 5 different seed types. I’m in southern Alberta, a very harsh zone 3 (2 years ago we lost Rowan trees I didn’t know that was possible) so I’m here to learn & figure out how to get my plants growing happily.

Welcome and best wishes! Happy growing 🌲
