Collected Black Spruce Group (Picea Mariana)

A bunch of trees half the size displayed here would be a nice addition and make these trees look even taller :)
Meaning, it would look like a forest.

I think it looks great. Reminds me of an isolated group of trees growing in a pocket of organic soil on a rock face or on a rocky island in a lake.

The trees looking as healthy as they are is half the battle. I imagine you’ll wire this fall, possibly spring? That should really set the composition off!

IMG_6295.jpegNot part of the three spruce planting but here is a singularly black spruce I also potted into a Nick Lenz round .. gonna wire this up in fall nice literati like

I see you use a shade cloth for these in PA. Have you noticed any other care requirements for them in your area? I’m in NJ but have basically the same climate as you. I know these are from a much colder zone than ours.

I think I like this position and angle better .. it will need a thicker wire this fall, I used thinner gauge just to get the branches dropped

Growth update … i reapplied moss And added more sedums last end of summer .. they will help with more water retention.. then this fall it will be finally ready for oral styling
