Got this Chamaecyparis from IKEA as a mini Xmas tree. (unsure of exact species).
Now decided to attempt to bonsai, although I have never done bonsai before.

And if anyone knows exact species?

It has 4 "trunks". Any styling or developing advice would be appreciated!

It's reaching -5 here at the moment so keeping indoors until the frost is over, then will move and repot.17680512140328767040390937643320.jpg17680512937642746525544436571388.jpg17680513261443989099990271534888.jpg

That spiky needle foliage looks very much like the juvenile foliage on my C. thyoides so that’s a definite possibility. If it is be aware that it is a zone 4 plant so can take the cold. I’d hold off on moving it outside as it may turn out to be a less hardy cultivar of obtusa.
