Hi All,
I've been very absent, and have missed the forum... I am hoping that I can be a regular here again, my life is getting back on track and I'm being able to catch up on tree work. Lots of early leafing and repotting of all but the Satsuki already. Here's some photos of some of the trees that I've been working on. Just finished wiring out the large JW pine, it seems pretty healthy, so am happy with it so far. Needs more development, but overall a decent start. The smaller JWP I got fall/winter so am letting it settle in this year.

Welcome Back Judy! Everything is looking great, new JWP? Still love that Namako Koyo.
Hey thanks, good to see you’re still around Bri. The tall one I got a year or so ago from Brussels of all places. The smaller one I got over this past winter, it’s hard to find such a strong church in sized one, so I snapped it up when I saw it. Sold the HUGE one last summer that I had for a couple years, it was just not manageable. Yeah hard to believe I had that clump KH in that kohl, now it’s too sprawling for it, but the goji looks good in it. I’ll be catching up on your threads as I get time.
I've been concerned not seeing you around. Glad to see you back ... thanks for sharing.
it was a long haul with Mom, and has been tough getting through but I feel like I’m getting to the other side a little more all the time. She’s with Dad, and no more suffering at last. I miss her more than I ever imagined I would…

Welcome back Judy. Sorry about your Mom. She is no longer suffering... the circle of life.
So true.
So sorry, Judy.

Your trees look great!
hey dave, good to see you here still. We did a quick trip up to Det this past Nov, I almost messaged you, but it was just a quick one. Maybe next time, as we are doing a lot of traveling now as we can. Thanks, would love to have you visit here also if you ever get down this way.

Deepest heartfelt condolences... I think, the significance of the last parent gone. Also hits harder. I felt orphaned ... kind of. Strange as when my mother died I grieved the woman she was incapable of being...and my dad...was a polite stranger I got to know as an adult. That it hit that way. As he was the last to go. But there is I believe...a psychological hit that we can't grasp. Hate that for you. Truly do. (((Hugs)))

Glad to have you back though...

So glad to see you back @JudyB . I thought we had lost yet another of our most experienced members. So sorry to hear about your mom. Feel comfort that you did the best for her that you could.
You know, you like to think that you did your best, but after some time passes, all that seems like not even close to enough. I love your tag line, that seems the part of what I wish I had paid attention to. But when its such a struggle, you loose sight of that, and are just trying to get everyone through the day... sorry for the sideline, back to the trees!!! Thanks for the welcome back everyone!

Welcome back - I actually use to be "giga" on here but changed as I just needed to step away from it as my dad was my bonsai yamadori hunting partner. After I lost my dad, it took a few year to get over it as he was my best friend, I don't think you ever get over it but just become manageable. I'm glad your back and the tree's look amazing!

Boy does this resonate with me. After giving 4 years to my dad and then my mom, and doing what I thought was my best, I often wish I could have done more. Yet I realize now that it was the most noble gesture I have made in my life. When dad passed I gave me full attention to mom. When mom was gone I felt some relief, but as time goes by (almost 1-1/2 years now) I miss them both more than ever. Now every day seems like its about living a life that would make them proud.
I am so glad you are posting again. I missed your calm and collective knowledge.... and your trees. Welcome back.
