Can anyone id this maple.

It's a Japanese maple - Acer palmatum.
If you are expecting a cultivar name that's not really possible unless we have provenance because many look superficially similar - except for a few cultivars that are distinctly different and this may be one of those.
It appears to have been grafted which means it's not seed grown and therefore more likely to be one of the known, named cultivars.
This one has distinctive red bark on new shoots. I only know one JM cultivar with that bright red bark so I suspect your tree is Sango Kaku AKA Senkaki, AKA Coral Bark maple.
This is one of those few times where location doesn't matter so much because the maple cultivars are universal but for most other enquiries it does help to know what part of the world you are in.

I second something close or similiar to Sango Kaku ... a red bark cultivar, most likely of the Aureum group.
Seems that this one caught a bight of sun already, Sango Kaku has quite lime green tones in summer, changing to pale yellow and than reddish like yours. Well, that's what my does.
I guess, you will find out in giving this tree a good home.
