Best of luck to you.Waiting for hurricane Francine’s landfall later today. Big trees and non-top heavy trees are on the ground. I have about 25 trees in the workshop. 80-90 mph winds projected. Fingers crossed. View attachment 566884
The house is blocking most of the wind. The tree on the bench is a honey locust and it's tied to the bench. I figured that was the best approach rather than power lifting 75 lbs or so to the ground. Low-slung trees fare really well on the ground in the wind. Winds are about 30 mph now and probably will go up to 60-70. The winds make a big counterclockwise route over land and lose some power before they reach us.If you’re just going to leave the trees in the open like the photo shows I would lean at least one of the patio blocked on each container. If container scratches concern you can place a section of an old towel between the patio block and the container. If it’s a shear wind force those ground trees will probably blow over. That pine (I think it’s a pine) on the bench should be moved to the ground.
Good luck, I will cross the finger for you....
Indeed I'm still trying with no results....That's impressive. I've never been able to cross just one finger.
