Bald cypress and dawn redwood

Thanks that helps a million. This is what I'm currently looking at buying View attachment 168495 View attachment 168496
I'm really not a Sugar Coater. They both may have some promise because they have movement but it's going to take years to find out. They'll need to go in the ground and given time to fatten up.

Where does one find something of that caliber???
In a friends swamp land that has given you permission to take whatever you want. If you have a Mom & Pop Nursery near you try to befriend the owner and you'd be surprised how helpful they can be.

yeah I was planning on putting them back in the ground or large pots. Sucks soooo much cuz where I lived in Maryland I lived near a large pond that was littered with them. Well thanks for the advice

That tree is incredible!!! BTW! I would never be able to afford anything even close to that and really don't know anyone with woods. I live beachside and haven't lived in Florida very long

Thanks! Big trees have issues. I've been trying to find a reasonably priced pot for two years. I believe I found a Chinese one that will work for now but if I ever decide to put it in a quality pot it's going to be expensive, very expensive.

Could be, he has a huge selection. I was working in the area and stopped by. The selection and pricing was so good I plan on driving down, 9ish hours, in the spring to get a few plants.

Any idea how much those in the pics are going for?
I didn't ask, there were several tables of great material starting at 40 or so, I think the next break was 70 or 80, perfect range for me as a new.

I feel your pain, Vin. I need a couple of really big pots, hard to find, and if you do, shipping is as much as the pot.

Best source online for BC I have ever seen (and I've looked hard over the years) is our own Zach Smith at Bonsai South. I've gotten a couple of excellent BC from him over the years.
First one I got back in 97 or so. Latest one this past spring...bigbc.jpg newbaldy.jpg
