Yeah, my post wasn't meant to be political in any way. I thought the guy in the car actually did look like Pres. Biden (I voted for him out of desperation). If he looked like Pres. G.W. Bush, I would've posted a pic of him... and now that I've seen a picture of our latest Presidential disaster, I need to go to the bathroom.Come on!

The even at the zoo- Polar Beers- was fun and well attended... the zoo has their seasonal "wild Lights" seasonal light show running which makes it extra cool. I would have taken pics but it was hard enough trying to enjoy the various spirits offered throughout the zoo while wearing insulated mittens... but I managed to get my ticket completely punchedSeriously though, I love this time of year when my trees over-wintered outdoors are put away, mulched, frozen solid with snow judiciously covering the pots and mulch. No watering, pruning or wiring is possible so nothing to worry about. Did I mention that I'm going drinking at a zoo tonight wearing a parka and quilted denim jeans?
. It was 10 F when we left and 1.6 F when I woke up this am to walk the puppy. I might have had a teeny, tiny, little headache which made it feel all the colder.

Same here! I have been traveling for work this week, but nothing to worry about with my trees back home since they are frozen under several inches of snow anyway. My wife also appreciates that she doesn’t have to cover watering duty!

Thats why I like my coldframe, just put the covers on when needed and take off when not.

It's funny to see people out here wearing full winter coats, hats, gloves, and scarves when the highs are in the 50s. That's considered COLD out here.Brrr! It's gotten down into the 40s here the last 3 nights! Positively Artctic!️

Southwest disease is t limited to extremely cold areas. In fact it’s pretty common in more temperate areas where warms ups above freezing are followed by sharp drops into 20s or below.

I bought ultasonic sound generators, switching in frequency in a range that mice hear. They are claimed to keep mice away in spaces of certain size (bought a small one just for my workspace where I put things in case of unexpected frosts). Might be worth checking for.
