Anyone familiar with bonsai import Co.

you just have to look at the site every week... You can contact the thru the website, but sometimes they don't really communicate all that well unless you are actually purchasing something.

Ah, that's helpful! I wasn't sure how often they updated.

I’m seriously considering buying a tree from them. I’ve been eying this particular tree for a few months now but I can’t help but wonder why it hasn’t already sold because in my mind it’s a fantastic tree.

I feel like they aren't always walking around cash kind of prices you know

Might take a minute for someone to make a decision - like yourself. Maybe go make someone jealous ;)

Fair enough lol. I guess what I was meaning was there are trees that, in my mind, are not as good that have sold for similar or higher price, but I guess everyone has different taste in bonsai

I believe tree importation has basically been on hold for at least a year, thank you Covid. Usually, I see updates on new trees from Brussels through FB and haven't had any of these for a longgggggg time. Anyway, I know the BIC website hasn't been updated in at least 6+ months.

yep, but like I said, they don't really communicate super well... When they post new stuff ( and they will even though imports are stopped, as these come from the actual collection) then you'll be able to get in touch with them. They really don't have any impetus to be good sellers as they're not really short of funds... lol. But they do have the s**t if you have the patience.

Their website is no longer accessible , they have either closed shop and are no longer open for business or creating a new website. It did have a note when you clicked on the for sale link that did state that it was being updated which was posted for weeks. I personally have never had an issue with contacting them and have purchased five trees from them. They all arrived in perfect shape, here are a four of them from BIC

You have good taste in trees, sir!

Thank you Adam, we all do like our pines even though as I warm people unlike deciduous threes they don’t tell you when they are stressed and you really have to be on top of them. I just tell them how Christmas trees are cut down months ahead and still stay green though Christmas at least with deciduous trees they warn you right away so that you can respond. Here is the last one of the five that I bought from BIC. I did not have a photo on my iPad so I just took this one which is the first photo.

I also included a few updated photos while I’m at it of some of the trees.

Thank you Adair, 30+ years in the making, had turned quite a few into firewood when I was traveling all the time in the early years until computerized watering came along.

Nice, you bought that kotobuki I was flirting with back around Christmas. That’s good to know for when their site comes back! Beautiful collection, and good taste in trees, as Adair said.

Thank you Brian, I have so many more just need to take photos, plus I just don’t want to bore people with photos. I have purchased the majority of my trees from Martin Brussel over the last 30 years. My last major purchase was this trident maple grove below which is on a 48 inch long slab.

Here is a nice rough bark pine that I own after Bjorn Bjorholm and I did some fine wiring on it a couple of years back, I will add a recent photo soon.

PS I love looking at photos of trees also I don’t care who owns them. I’m on YouTube each day looking at video from a few of my favorite YouTube channels who regularly post videos of bonsai.

Very cool, you have a wonderful collection! I also am on YouTube each day looking at bonsai. I believe I’ve watched every video posted by Gak Bonsai. I’ve watched a few of them multiple times. Never get tired of seeing cool trees!
