Yeah, guess it is a UK english termAah! Have always known as a barrel.
Then this would be a reason for not using a hose. However; A can requires that it be filled ------- where does that water come from???And then again.. If you have to start watering with acidified water because all your trees get chlorosis at the end of the summer due to calcium rich bore water there just might be some reason for watering specific plants from rainbarrels.
where does that water come from?
I am installing a few rain barrels as the new dry summers we are getting are causing too much scale buildup from my bore hole in the pots. So I plan on doing more handwatering.
Not wanting to change how you work, but this can be resolved with a fertilizer attachment to the hose.+ I fertilise at every watering
I'm curious about that can you provide me a example? Not wanting to change how you work, but this can be resolved with a fertilizer attachment to the hose.

Thank You very much, I like the design but I doubt my ability to make one.The venturi on mine gets clogged once a year from our hard water so I have recently come up with a more āpermanentā solution similar to this (not my pic)

I think the brass in the hozon is causing oxidation/ mineral deposits in The tiny Venturi hole so I am moving to a plastic āmazzeiā style.
i use it to lower my ph, as well as fertilize and used it for fungus gnat nematodes this year.
Good question. I do not even know what to search for in stores hereWhere does one find a siphon these days?
