What happened to the root grafts you did on this tree I didn't see if they took or not and what you did with them?

Two or three are still there. They were small to begin with and didn’t grow that much. They won’t get separated till next summer at the earliest.

Do you know, or can you tell, how this trunk was developed? Are there scar marks at each bend?

It’s a really beautiful trunk.

If I had to hazard a guess this trunk was built via wire and hard pruning. There are chop scars up and down the trunk, the largest being just above that first trunk section...


There are multiple smaller chop scars higher up

Really nice @Dav4 ! I think my JM's are about that same stage as fall blushing. Trident is on it's way out...beginning to drop foliage.

Very nice, we are supposed to get out first 30 degree day Monday... let's see if I can get some fall color before having to behead most of my grow bed trees before pulling them out for the move.

I have to say that none of my maples colored up as well in N. GA as they do here in MI... literally night and day. Hopefully, you'll get some decent color.
