Time for another Haiku "Contest"!

In honor of the official arrival of Fall (for those of us in the northern hemisphere), let's have a haiku contest / tool give-away! The rules will be the same as last time - in order to enter you just have to post a fall-themed haiku. Haikus will not be judged for quality. You can post more than one haiku, but you can only have one chance in the final drawing (ie posting more haikus do not improve your chance of winning). Entries have to be posted by midnight, October 31, in whatever time zone you live in.

The winner will be chosen by random drawing from all entries. The winner will receive a Wazakura 7.4" Jin Sickle Scraper (a $89.99 value). I will contact the winner via PM for name and shipping address. I will ship free anywhere in the world that allows me to ship sharp metal tools - but if there are tariffs or taxes or fees, that's on you.

ALSO Wazakura will be offering a wire special to accompany this contest. From now until the end of October, you can get 50% off their 300g and 150g wire. Simply use the discount code “BONSAINUTFALL23“ to active the discount during the check out process.

Thank you to Wazakura Japan for the contest tools!

To write a haiku
is not hard once you practice.

And it's super fun!

I wrote this haiku at Muir Woods (and earned a junior ranger badge in the process!). photos included of the inspiration.

among the giants
lazily the tanoak twists
fall, but not above

Long shadow of day
Between the crimson I lay
Creeping dew display

Oh sweet senescence
Come bear me autumnal wings
Crescendo color

Moonlight silhouette
The cricket sings harmony
Bifurcations show

Amber leaves cascade
Whispers of autumn's embrace
Nature's final grace

Leaves of golden red,
Bonsai stands with grace and poise,
Autumn's masterpiece.

Tender limbs now bare,
Silhouette against the sky,
Bonsai embraces change.

Tiny leaves flutter,
Nature's art, small and delicate,

Fall season's delight.

Fall color greets us
Familiar nip in the air
Bonsai shuffle: Go!
😂

Hello dahlia
Will you bloom for us this year?
Frost is coming soon

(Our over five year old tree dahlia that never gets to bloom before it turns into a ten foot tall stand of mush 🥲)
