Great thanks for the ID. Was hoping to figure out what that larger cream oval was.Post 41 and 42 are both Yamaaki. 37 is Shuuho.
The color on this pot is incredibly nice. I like the natural desert sand look. Reminds me of all that New Mexico has to offer. When this one loses its favorite status I’m interested.this one is my fave. 12” or so oval that sure seems old. Great patina on the glaze and clay. The chop looks old also. @Brian Van Fleet can you possibly identify the chop on this one? If not no sweat!

What?!?! Sweet! Thank you Brian for taking the time to find that! I’ve been looking through that list for the last 20 minutes. It’s amazing how many different chops there are with the subtlest of differences. You weren’t kidding when you talked about pot collecting being a beast of its own! The Tokoname pottery name list alone is pretty wild.
Amazon has a good selection. And lately on the Facebook Bonsai Pot Auctions there have been a ton available at pretty killer prices. Many nice pots. Might I ask where you sourced your Yixing pots?
Thanks! Yeah these are all mine. Just thought I’d share them for fun on here. May peddle 1 or 2 at some point, but not there yet. I committed myself to better pots this year and to buying less trees. I’d say mission accomplished at this point.Beautiful! Every piece. I'm all mixed emotions here. Are all these yours to use? Then there's a bunch of jealousy. If you're peddling these there's some coveting going on. Either way thanks for sharing.
I’d say most of these pots won’t even have trees come spring! But I’ve got plans down the road for quite a few of them. It’s nice to know I’ve got them though. Here’s hoping I’ve got some better looking benches this season!I'm pretty much in the same boat. Decided last August that the time had come to start to begin to commence the transition from wood and plastic to some nice ceramics.
I need to get me one of Sam Miller’s pots he does great work, he’s a hell of a nice guy as well. I’ve spoke to him a couple of times at the Utah spring and fall bonsai shows. Perhaps he’ll have some pots for sell at the show this spring I could save on shipping? He collects and sells some great yamadori as well.
Nice score. Yeah, his iron oxide glaze is by far my favorite. I do though think that the speed at which his pots go on the FB auctions is interesting. Ive heard also that the guy is an exceptional person and has been collecting for some time, but his pots are no more spectacular than others in a similar fashion on the auction page. I think what people are buying at that point is the name. Which, mind you, i purchased one. With all that said though, his pots are quite nice and Im always happy to see an artist make a good name and money off of their trade. A pot id really like to snag is a Brian Soldano pot, where a portion of the wall looks like its deteriorating. Have you seen those @Colorado ?So. I had to bite the bullet and go ahead and purchase one from a retailer website:

I feel the above orientation gives a more feminine innuendo. With the single foot in front. Here, I think it appears more stable and therefore masculine:

This pot will be occupied by a shohin itoigawa this spring.
You should definitely get some of his pots, they're awesome. I have quite a few including one of the "torn" lip ones.I have. I desperately wanted this one from @Soldano666 but someone snagged it first!

I’ve also seen his pots with the “torn” or “deteriorating” rim you reference. Which I think would be quite nice for a cascade or semi cascade.
