2020 Pot Acquisitions

I’ve committed to upping my pot game for the 2020 season. Here are a few of my pickups this year with more to come in the mail and from different sources. It’s been an eclectic mix of pots from Japanese makers to American, to French makers.

Ivory yamafusa with a nice crackle glaze and patina.

2 large yixing and a concrete slab I made.

very shallow oval. Love the color and have a ficus for this one.

got these 2 from bonsai pot auctions. American maker named Mary Jane Carlson. Love the finish on both of these.

Somehow acquired this Sam Miller pot. His pots go insanely quick with the BiN option on the auction sites.

2 production pots. 1 from 99 cent bonsai the other from American bonsai. Love the crackle on the white one.

I’ve got 4 pots coming all the way from France that we’re also acquired on the auction sites! Love this guys style and can’t wait to share.

Another club member friend who is a helicopter pilot for the navy, was stationed in Japan last year and has put together a little collection of pots to send me. All of these for $125.

Plus several more my mom scored from a dude looking to get out of the hobby. Won’t get those till June as my mom doesn’t want to ship. 2 of which are from Dave Lowman.

Almost forgot about these ones! Found these at the antique store. Labeled as Senser (incense) pots from Nippon japan. I still need to drill some holes in them, but I though they were cool for only 7 bucks a piece.

Thanks! I’ve got plans for several of them with trees I’ve been working on! Some I got just to get. Some were Opportunity buys others I just liked.

Serious. I ordered my first 2 from an auction and it was all down hill from there. Was it you that got the Phillipe Torcatis frog pot?

It was. So you have four coming from him? I had wondered if he was the France Potter. Well done! Can't wait to see them.
