1st attempt at a Japanese juniper

I researched Bonsai's for a few weeks and got to a point where I thought I wouldn't learn anymore without actually doing one for myself. Below is my first attempt. I could use some constructive criticism and direction. I didn't want to attempt a cascade, but branch #5 kinda of lends itself to that style...so I guess I'm doing a cascade.

The 1st picture is pre-wiring/trimming. The 2nd picture is the front after wiring of the main trunk, branch #1, and branch #2. The 3rd picture is the back.

check out my blog at this link about this type of juniper. Maybe you can get something from it that will help you. There are six junipers of this type that I worked on so follow all six of them and see what you think. Most people make cascades out of these junipers but that doesn't always have to be the case. ;)

That looks like you had fun with it, good first effort. Time for the real work now which is the most painful - WAITING ;)

Yeah, that's going to be tough! I may get a couple more and try again.
