Little behind schedule but I finally bought some grow lights and made a little stand for my plants in the basement. Had my trees sitting in a Northwest facing window of our mudroom that gets down into the 40s at night but the ficus no like-us. Hoping it'll bounce back under the lights.

Not posted in a while as I broke my camera. Brought some tropicals South for the winter, and bringing one 10yr old back grown from seed. Leave some and take some. Repotting some while here(Florida) Nothing worth posting:) 1738693668974.png

After finishing up-potting my Princess Persimmons and wiring them (with very few breaks), I turned my attention to my last batch of Ume cuttings. I didn’t get a picture of the ones I wired, but they all had mostly 360-degree roots. The ones with poor roots got a washer and no wire. It was getting late and I still had several poorly rooted cuttings to go, so I fashioned them together with their poor roots facing out. All together they have a pretty good root spread. We’ll see what they turn into. I’ve never seen a kabudachi Ume.

Today I finally built a display bench for my bonsai projects. I had them scattered all over the place now I'm hopping this will make caring for them much easier. Here you go let me know what you all think.

Very nice, I'm jealous. That sucker can handle some weight!

Checked in on my Common Juniper that I planted in pumice in a colander nearly 1 year ago exactly. I'd say I got some roots. It sat all year nestled in its old nursery pot, suspended over some leftover soil in the bottom. That added humidity surrounding the colander certainly didn't seem to hurt.

And an English ivy.

I also ordered an 18 inch bonsai pot. It's silly, but I want a multiple planting mallsai ginseng ficus pot. I'm obsessed with them. They just make me absolutely happy everytime I see such silly plants.

Tested it with these three goons.

I said I was not going to buy anything but supplies for a few months...well I lost that battle. Saw this Escambron that was so different looking. And since there was only one, then I really couldn't wait for a few months,,,right? LOL
The bark is really nice. Got this from Jason at Schleys Bonsai.
