Young maple slip pot

Just brought a little maple from a nursery here in the UK and it's in a tiny pot around 13 cm , I would like to move it into a 20cm pot to help it spread it's legs a little . Would it be ok to do maybe when the first flush has finished or is it a total no on this .

Should be ok. If leaves are “leather hard” not tender JM can be transplanted pretty safely. When you repot try to free the outer inch or inch and a half of soil and make sure they extend into the new soil layer being added. This is important since roots are reluctant to cross the boundary between different soil types. That results in circling roots in the pot in the same old soil mass and defeats the purpose of repotting into a larger container
