Yamadori Limber Pine

Those are nice! How old are they and where did you get the seeds Pls
I bought it in a nursery in 2018, it is approx 12 or 15 years old. You can see it here :

So after reading more about both limber and whitebark pine it seems that I need to go back out to the site and see if I can find some cones. As mentioned above, there is only 1 area in Oregon known to have limber pines, so most likely to be whitebark. Also, I tested Cruiser's suggestion about the needles--they are smooth like whitebark but I am not certain what Limber is supposed to feel like.
Hey, I’m in bend, we just don’t have enough bonsai guys locally. You?
Im interested in others in our bend area that pursue collecting. Seems you got a white bark pine, as we don’t have limbers here in central Oregon. When i backpack the Wallowas i see limbers and white bark intermingled at high elevation but the cones or lack thereof gives it away. Perfect identifier for at least the mature trees.
Like the other guy said, careful of how many people you share that with about your five needle pine, when I got my collecting permit last year from forest service I spoke at length with the top-dog tree specialist. They will get after us big time if they learn weve got ANY five needle pine in our possession as they difficult to tell the difference while small, and therefore still collectible.
Mt bachelor area has plenty of western whites growing on its lower flanks but you’ll see super large undisturbed cones from mature trees. Squirrels and Clark’s nut cracker just dont enjoy eating them as much as WBP.
Any ways enough rambling.
Would love to see some of your trees, let’s talk
