Winter Silhouette Show in Kannapolis, NC (excellent show, lousy pictures)

The show was fantastic indeed, I was humbled to be in the presence of such great trees. I'm happy I stayed for 2 whole days to really absorbed the entire show. A once over simply isn't enough when there are that many quality trees/compositions in such a great arena. John and Ken's were equally impressive, as well as Arthurs (among others). Ken's CM and John's winged elm group were stand-outs from the very start. Arthur's Yashimura (sp?) group was also exciting to see after reading his post about it no less than 3 times! Also, I'll echo whomever suggested that Preston show his pots here and elsewhere, I walked away with 3 and I'm excited to see them evolve. Nice work everyone involved and congrats to the prize winners.

It truly was great to meet all of y'all. Eli, John, Martin, I had a good time talking with you. When I get a chance I will set up my lights and photograph some pots. This show really opened my eyes to what an exhibition should be.

Dan and MACH5,

Here are two of the lesser trees, but they are mine and I enjoy them as I grew them all from root cuttings.

If the Winter Silhouette Show is held again next year, it is well worth attending. The venue is 1st Class, the organizer (yes 1 man put this on basically by himself) had all the bases covered, the trees exhibited were extremely good overall and will hopefully only get better (although that may prove a challenge) and the attendance will grow. Every indication is that it will happen again, so keep your eyes and ears open

Regards,
Martin

Martin and all, at the close of the Exhibit, during take down, Steve Zeisel invited all who participated to be ready for the 2014 Exhibition, same weekend.
