White Spruce Forest. No.1

Got this group of white spruce , not sure if they are indeed white spruce or Norway spruce .. either way , I’m going to thin the foliage and wire end of august, then put into a nice big forest or on a slab / stone, this will be fun

I plan on cutting back whorls back to two at any location or cutting back to area to build taper and to wire into its future design

I will be wiring these trees up in a couple weeks but I found a perfect rock slab for it.. I think the rock was 65 -70 lbs. carried it down the mountain yesterday

Dang! That's a big ass rock. Are you going to drill/chisel it or just hold everything down with muck?

I’m going to drill into it and use wire anchored with cement , and then use muck wall. The spruce forest has been in a tray for 3 years so the roots are all matted together as one large mass. Just gotta work on the contour and top/bottom of roots and mix soil in and on bottom. But I’m also looking at other slabs and lace rock so this rock might end up being a feature it’s heavy. Maybe chisel to reduce weight ?? Idk

What kind of dedication to the art is that? Bonsai Rules call for you to now lug that thing around Sisyphus-style for all eternity.
