Which juniper variety grows faster

To be hones, I think fast-growing should not be the criterium for bonsai species selection

San Jose is often what's used to build a trunk, and receives shimpaku grafts very well. I don't know if its "fastest", but its certainly fast.

If you are really in zone 12b, a juniper is probably not a great choice. There are some I am aware of that survive zone 10, but many of them are hardy zone 4 to zone 7.
Are you interested in bonsai? Or were you misdirected here?
