Maybe the demand is low so the supply is low as well. I guess a lot of people prefer Itoigawa and Kishu hence the availability.

Maybe! But the media/pfitzer varieties sell out in garden centers each year and they're less attractive garden specimens compared to a good chinensis.

I found these old guys in Italy, next to a 150+ year old mansion. They don't make gardens like that anymore.

That is a cool looking tree. I would love to have that outside of my house.
