What's your dream tree?

This has probably been asked before, but if money was no object - what would your ultimate "dream tree" be? What goal do you work towards?
I'll go first..
My dream tree is a Redbud - any one.Eastern/Western/Siliquastrum Also to have a complete set of bougainvilleas. (I have the pink, magenta and purple) The goal I am working towards is to be a propagator wizard.

A solid gold bonsai tree about 3ft tall should do nicely. I hear they are pretty drought tolerant too!

I’d love to do a redbud too. They’re everywhere around here, but I have not bothered to containerize one...though a volunteer is in the back yard I’ve been whacking back...

This Shimpaku has always been a favorite of mine. It’s in the Shinpukuji temple bonsai museum.

Not very popular for bonsai, I will settle for small tree as well..There is just something.. Mysterious about them..
I would also like a small walnut tree..

My girlfriend got me wanting an old prunus mume, with gnarly bark. Like the almond trees that grow on the Spanish isles.
I prefer conifers, a nice big juniper with a bunch of dead wood would be nice. A bug fat scots pine without any deadwood would be nice too.

Next addition will be a Pseudocydonia if nothing else captures my attention. But my dream is developing the trunks I have into impress bonsai. Having a perfectionist side this will be enough.

A dream tree...I guess, seven years in. I'm just content. A placid contentment, of what I have already.

At one time, I thought a gnarly larch...but...honestly, reading they don't back bud well. That if a branch shades out it can die back. What in the world was I thinking? Sounds like a tree not for me. I will admire others...and be content in doing so. Taking that off the table...I have no dream tree.

I prefer pines for the most part. But, for some reason I also like broom style Zelkova. You just don’t see many. Here’s one I’ve admired over the years:

For me, one of the top on the list is a kinzu golden bean kumquat. Perfect embodiment of a fruiting bonsai- small attractive orange fruit, small leaves, and i assume fragrant white flowers like other citrus. Hard to get in the US, especially a nice one...

It might be a bit boring, but I'd love a really substantial japanese maple. Good, old white bark, beautiful autumn colors, amazing winter silhouette. Maybe one of these days.

So, a complete tangent, but I was curious about the way that one is potted. I know slightly off center is not abnormal, but this one feels like it's pretty far left. Is that just a method to introduce some visual tension?

Twice.. I also saw the tree in real life. And I did not know it was in the place I was visiting. Just turned a corned and WHAM!
Earth moving tree. Have gone back there maybe 10 times over a 3 day period...

Had to look it up.. Quince. Interesting.. I like flower/fruit baring trees.. Busy growing 10-20 little Kumquat trees that I want to fuse..

They are beautiful.. I like mumes.. one day.. when I am older..

Had to look it up, just know the general Kumquat. Have a few myself - as a side note - When the mother tree fruit, we make jams with them.. I absolutely love the taste, bit of an acquired taste, like marmalade..
