Today while at my teachers house I asked if I could take some moss to start at home. Well, she gave me a 1 gallon zip lock FULL to take home. Turns out it's kyoto. All of her moss started from a small sliver of this kyoto.Oh, I've got at least a dozen local mosses happening too, often bring it home and toss it around. A couple club mosses too, they're cool sometimes, lichens too. This Kyoto moss seems to eventually take over everything else given enough time. I definitely have found it necessary to replenish the top soil of some trees too sometimes. More so the last couple years overwinting with pumice for mulch. I've wound up with a kind of pumice dust crust, you'd think it would wash through but.,,
I jus thought it was funny we were talking about this, and the moss she likes the most is the kyoto. I like it.
My favorite ficus clump.
I love the color and texture.
Mame cottonwood. I did have issues washing this guy's soil out. Not anymore!
