What the heck is happening to my Zelkova? Gone crazy?

I got this seedling from @leatherback as I couldn't find nice Zelkovas around São Paulo.
So he was kind enough to provide me some whips with roots wrapped in wet newspaper and..
They all took.
This winter this one had no leaves at all and was like 15cm tall, and 3 months later it is almost 1 meter high and very healthy.
What worries me is the difference among their leaves, as one plant has leaves less than half a centimeter, along with leaves of more than 4 inches (12 cm).
They are being fertilized as the other bonsai (organic pellets + fish emulsion) and are in full sun all day.
I am not concerned about reducing leaf size in a seedling, but is it normal?
Such big leaves on a young Zelkova?

Yes! Very normal.

Once you start trimming, you will see that the first leaves are normally smallish, increasing with every leaf, and increasing strength.

The internodes ALSO increase. So this is fine for sacrifice branches and the base of your trunk. But as you get further in developing the trunk, you need some slow-growing, tight internodes forming work!
