@shohin_branches
Looks great ...
We have the first proper cold night with degrees below 0 °C (that is < 32 °F).

This year, I definitely messed up with the time, enjoying the beautiful late autumn mild weather so I really had to taskwork all of my trees the last 2 day, the sensitive into the tent, the robust ones mulched in. 2 missing, but need more material tomorrow to finish. Now my backs hurting, but so long ...

@KateM
Mine is showing their flower buds now too. Too dark to make any decent picture, but I've noticed this today too! 🌼

Wired this cascade and did some pruning on this bunjin cypress.
Still trying to figure out a pot for the cascade because it is due this spring!

While I was sick the last three weeks I was not on top of watering my tropicals so I spent some time cleaning up the dried out leaves on the plants that got a little crispy. Most of them should bounce back.

Then I finally got some faced insulation. Working with unfaced on such wide batts is a nightmare. Trying to slide insulation along rough cedar siding doesn't work so I had to cut some cardboard to help me get the insulation behind the shelves.

In the process of cleaning out the shed to continue insulating I pulled out the black walnut I had for making stands but I forgot to stick pieces of wood between them for airflow so they all split really badly.

Started going through the trees in preparation to start moving them to my coldframe. This entails cleaning the soil surface of moss and weeds, removing leaves and some light pruning.

Will start moving some to the coldframe tomorrow. Azaleas and chojuba will be first.

I would normally leave the cold hardy pines out and only put them in if necessary but I'm getting surgery next month and I will not be able to pick up and carry them for a while so they all have to go in before that happens

Catching up with posting my daily activities for the past week…
Wednesday…Pruned back my honeysuckle bush and rediscovered a hackberry and found an apple tree growing within the drip line. Dug out the hackberry that had been growing under my honeysuckle bush. I had cut it back a few years ago hoping to kill it. Now it will be a possible entry in a contest. Planted it in a grow tub.
Hackberry…

Apple tree growing within the roots of the honeysuckle bush will be more difficult to remove. It is as big around as my wrist and appears to be growing up thru the roots of the senior bush. It will be a bugger to extract.

And today I noticed the trunk and nebari on a huge Sweet Gum tree growing at my sister’s house. The tree is close to 50 years old, one of three massive shade trees.
