I've been popping in to see the Big Bear bald eagles for over a year. They laid 3 eggs last year, 2 of which became full-sized eagles. That was amazing to witness.

They just laid a couple eggs over the last few days! It will be about a month before they hatch.

Hey, I know this is somewhat of an older post, but anything you can share on pinus pungens? Not much out there about them.
Gladly!
I'm still growing mine in a colander with about 60% pumice, 20% coco coir, 20% pine fines. It grew like crazy last summer!
I treated it like a 2-flush pine and it responded with lots of back-budding and prolific growth. It's in full sun and gets water only when it's dry. Loving this tree and will put in in a proper pot in about a month. I will search for a recent photo. Currently buried in snow and ice.

I took some "sort of" better after shots of a initial wiring i did a week or so ago on a massive olive i dug up 2022 ish. The sun setting to the side didn't overly help but the background was calmer at least.

The "pot" is a cut down 200L drum. Its 60cm diameter.

Before vs after

There's a branch im planning to remove on the denser side but I'm keeping it for now as I've used it to anchor wire elsewhere.

First up for today it's been potting up two Succulents; Aeolium Lindelyi Variegata & Aeonium Sedifolium into a pair of celadon-style cascade pots. (Well finished the pair as I potted the Lindelyi back in November)

Then transferred a couple of Ficus Benjamina cuttings that have taken root after prodding a few cuttings into some coco-coir a few weeks back:

Then Finally giving everything a winter watering. It's mainly succulents on my shelves at present, and not many trees as I had to scale back whilst other life priorities took over. Hoping to have more trees this year once the garden is back to tip top standards. Still enough to keep me busy here though. Really liking the succulents lately, and have some Portulacaria Afra on the way, will update once they arrive.

Really happy that the Vitex Negundo has leafed out and off to a vigorous start on the kitchen shelves! Can't wait to have the primary and secondary forms onto it! 🤩

Well that's everything for today. Nothing much else to do now until the Portulacarias arrive... And yes I'll also be complaining that I'm too busy once the Summer is in full swing 😁

Moved this Jade into full Sun today after being under cover to save it from the rain.
Rot issues on healing wounds, gutted
Most rain ive seen over Summer.
That sucks to hear. Hopefully it'll recover without issue! 🤞

You're far braver than I. I keep my Crassulas strictly indoors, with the North East UK weather being what it is I just can't roll the dice on that one.

It's looking tops though so I reckon it'll bounce back no bother for you! That trunk is super chonky! 🏆

After reading and re-reading lieuz's Kintsugi thread, I figured I would go about repairing a couple pots that broke when a box of miscellaneous motorcycle parts randomly broke the box they were housed in. A series of unfortunate events...

Anyways this is my third repair (the fourth that I have to do is much more complicated due to the amount of pieces). Thankfully (or not) I had some already broke production mame pots to trial with first before moving in to the pots I actually care for.

Today I removed it from the humidity box and slowly undid the bandages holding it together to test the strength of the bond. It held its own weight and a light push.20260128_031754.jpg20260128_031824.jpg

Defoliated, wired, and repotted this pyracantha I picked up a couple months ago. IMG_2524.jpeg
