A view of my garden 10 minutes ago. I've just experienced a 3 day storm, with strong winds (150 km/h), strong rain (160 liters/m2), and even hail. Fortunatly everything in my garden is fine.
View from my hospital room since past Wednesday.
Hubby is supposed to open any packages and water any trees that arrive in my absence.
Dry and cold here…View attachment 623377

Did some light pruning and wired a trunk on this Pacific Yew.
This tree suffered this summer due to bad permeability and needs repotting.
I initially used vermiculite in the mix which was a terrible mistake (in the PNW but I think just in general…duhhh)
Has been in the pot for over 6 years now and I expect it will explode with a free draining mixture come spring.
Love these native yews of ours have yet to see an example of a collected specimen that represents their natural form! I have my eye on a few but I’m still learning how to deal with them before I get my shovel out for the good ones I’ve found.
Does anyone have a good one of these? I know Greg Brenden and David Degroot have some great ones that have been shared but what about others??
