What did you do today? Show us Pic Required

Just uploaded a new video documenting the entire, step-by-step restoration process of this Juniper loaned to me by a local artist here in SoCal.

Go check it out if you have a few minutes... and if you do, don't forget to like, comment and maybe even sub. It really helps the algorithm from burying the video.

As always, the support from the community here is super appreciated...

Kyle

Lamented the fact that I'm apparently killing my little Bilobed Grewia. I followed some instructions that this little indoor fellow only needed to be watered once a week during June. Pretty sure that was wrong. I've been watering every day for several days, but I just don't know if it'll come back :(.
BTW, hello, I'm new here. Hoping to have better news to post someday.

If you need help with this tree you'll get better feedback if you start your own post in the beginner section.

I did some more partial defoliation on my big forest before work. Mostly just made a mess.

About to go spend the day working on trees with one of my favorite people, Rodney Clemons, should be an enjoyable day.

Photo tax. My honeysuckle, fresh, smaller leaves and another round of ramification after full defoliation a couple weeks back.

Did some structural wiring on my potentilla before work. This was a real challenge and some of the weird wire is to support a cracked branch. It's not often that you get to wire deciduous branches up instead of down. Hoping to finish at lunch.

This one might need it's own thread soon

Surprised you haven't watch that before, that's an old video. I think it came out around the same time Sergio bought his.
Ah ok. Says it was uploaded a day ago. Must be a reload. The US nationals is in Sept right? He's talking about this tree going into the show...

Pommegranate recently had a cut back. These are extending shoots.
Could be a powerful shohin.

He was talking about it going to the first Pacific bonsai expo.

It is a new free YouTube upload, but I assume it was on Mirai live in 2022 - which is still 5 years later than when Sergio got his from Ryan.

That's right, I thought it was the first video of the yatsubusa that was from early 2020. I had to go look at Sergio's threads, I thought it was around the same time, didn't know he started the thread in 2017.

Ah ok fair enough. I probably seen it before and forgot.

I extended the privacy netting on my balcony, so I dont have to see the upstairs balcony.

This Field Elm was collected in May with not much root. These shoots all grew while it was bagged, some of the leaves are beginning to harden off.

Should it survive and I think it will. I could air layer a raft off the top and build a broom from the lower trunk. The scar being a nice feature.

Double post so ill post another tree.
Beech that was cut back a few weeks ago has responded well, lots of shoots closer to trunk. This is why I love heatwaves, you get to push trees harder than normal and they respond!
