I'll admit that not all of them have a plan forward, and in that time they grow. I generally try to have more then one of each species of tree I have, one (or more) nice and the rest to "play" with. I have began selling things at the local club, that's how I got my new elm lol trade the youngins for some more established trees.

Big guy (CW2) looks like it ran out of steam at about 7ft tall, this'll be a big ball of yellow foliage in a month lol
CW1 is still growing away, I'm restraining myself from doing any work so the tree can build some energy for the winter.
And the little guy is really bolting upward

The black stuff is indeed pruning sealer. It mostly crumbles away as the wound heals, but it falls off easily after about 2 years. I might be trading the big one but I have a feeling the deal is going to fall threw, I definitely have a lot to work with this next spring so it should be fun.

THats sounds great, I'm getting some then. I'm using plumbers putty right now, its ok but it dries out too fast and falls off way before it should.

I don't use banks but for getting my direct deposit. Then I withdraw all but $20.00 to keep it open.
