This must be the year for toads. We have had more toads on our patio this year than we have ever seen. Today I saw a snake on the patio. No picture because I ran back in the house! I'd much rather have the toads!!

A wake of Turkey Vultures. These guys gather every morning. The most I've seen in this tree is 10. My home is 2 blocks from sagebrush steppe BLM land.

This little Junk Bug (lacewing larvae) was cruising around one of my recently mossed-up trees this morning. It was pretty fun to watch him walk along the moss, like he was hiking around some hill country with his backpack on:
