It is. But you can make this with just about any seedling by wiring and gently bending it when the growth is soft. It is kind of a touchy thing to do, so it pays to have a number of seedlings or young branches to attempt it - you will likely break a few. Wire will only need to stay on for a month or two and it will be set. Then after another year you can layer it, if necessary, to put these sexy bends where you want them, relative to the roots.just thought it was cool.

Tree very abrasive and dulling to chain saw. Pretty cinnamon bark holds the ivy oils too well though. Don't ask how I know...Sassafras...not good for bonsai....but the roots of a mature tree make an excellent drink. Tastes.....similar to root beer.

Poison ivy oil holding bark....now that I did not know. I grew up drinking Sassafras Tea for a treat. I don’t recall ever digging the roots up around Poison Ivy plants...but I probably never really paid attention or looked that closely. I was lucky I guess.
