Underhill Bonsai

They are about 4hrs south of me. They have a lot of good material and growing rapidly! They have all kinds of stuff, their website is extremely limited to the stock they actually have and variety of species and size(price). They have supplies, pots, tools, many tropical species, lots of different deciduous species. Conifers.. They even have carnivorous plants. They are currently selling tickets for their annual “C’est Bonsai” event, it will be three days long this year! Awesome food, lots of awesome bonsai people, an excellent bonsai show… lots of demos.. I can’t wait! They have a great sale going right now on collected bald cypress as well.

Got an amazing Texas Ebony from them. It was listed under the nursery stock, but came in a great bonsai soil mix. And much larger than I thought.
All of their trees are planted in their signature bonsai soil. Any tree you buy from them no matter the size will be in good Underhill bonsai soil. That is a nice Texas ebony you scored from them. They are neat specimens for bonsai.

I am going to order a second one because it can be hard to find Texas Ebony. The ones on Etsy etc are in 4" pots and more money. Before I saw Underhill had them, I ordered one from a big grower in Florida. It was no where as good as the one from Underhill.

I was there just a few weeks ago and they had a whole section of Texas ebony. If you email Gavin you may be able to tell him what you want and he will send photos. They used to do that, idk if they still do since they have grown so much.

I've purchased a few nice specimens from them. They have amazing bald cypress and fields full of BIG trident maples. Prices can be high, but the products are worth the money.
They have some BIG shimpakus, podocarpus, elms and some others in the ground too. They had a whole row of really big podocarpus out there a few weeks ago when I visited.

Funny you say that. I did send him a message and said I want one that has more horizontal growth if possible or one that is just strange looking.

Got the tree in today. He must have ESP, Gavin picked the perfect style of tree I wanted. Now I have two Texas Ebonys from them.

Evan just posted a new reel on their Facebook page highlighting their Texas ebony stock.

Just watched. I love how the two I have are so different in style.
