Too Wet ?

What type of soil medium are you using and why is it soaking wet? Is the soil draining properly or is something clogged up?
Soil looks to be mixed with some potting soil maybe. It was shipped to me so the seller soaked it. The pot has good drainage, but my concern
is that the tree has no buds to aspirate moisture and if the roots will drown if I don't take it out to dry a litte?
Just my opinion, but if it has no buds/growth yet, I would re-pot it carefully. Pop it out of the pot it is in and lightly tease off the soil trying not to damage the roots. Then re-pot in pumice with a little organic like small, screened bark chips mixed in.

It’s possible was soaked just for shipping as well to make the trip. If buds are swelling could repot in general and change soil accordingly so you know soil moving forward. If you do just make sure to keep protected with any freezing temps

If you have a preferred soil mix for your maples, now would be a fine time to re-pot and change out the soil. Just don't let the root ball freeze solid after the re-pot.

An excellent time to get the tree into a soil mix you are familiar with. Trying to baby trees through 12 months in an unfamiliar soil is hard work and liable to result in losses. Repotting is simple and quick and subsequent care is so much simpler when you can water all your trees the same.
Wet roots for a week or 2 is no problem. If that was the case all our trees would die after a week of rain. It takes months of wet soil to cause root problems.
