I took cuttings on July 3 , and seems like I'm doing something wrong ? I took 13 cuttings from a Chinese elm. I'm using 100% perlite and keeping in bright room with Saran wrap on top at all times. I water it 1 time so far and today I was checking on them it it smells bad in the bucket as well but noticed this on two on my cuttings. I've taken them out. What is it? And what am I doing wrong so I can not have anymore "die" out on me? Thank you in advance!20170713_181332.jpg

That looks like some kind of insect eggs to me, but leave it up to the pros!

How do I go about making sure the rest of my cuttings don't get "infected " I took those cuttings out already , but I don't want to lose anymore $:

I don't know if it's too wet or not but there's clearly a caterpilar on the one cutting near all those bite marks and eggs all over the leaves. I would suspect them first. Especially since the leaves appear to be in good shape
