After repotting this in spring, I top dressed the pot with Sphagnum moss as I do. But the bark on these Seijus doesn't like to be wet. Yesterday i reduced the soil line and used a toothbrush with some vinegar and water to gently remove moss from the base.
Nursery find, will begin a thread as it fills out. I find that these bark up very quickly. If you lose bark, it doesnt take long to start looking rough again.

I got real lucky on fb auctions a few years ago and got this as raw materialI just let it grow for a couple of years - just got its first styling this year.
And yes, as everyone says about every photo, it looks better in person. One day I will take good photos. Today is not that day. Until then, Tim Apple told me this was acceptable.
