Collected Sub Alpine Fir, working towards a vision. Root ball established, planting angle determined, branch development and compaction underway! Plan is to frame the deadwood and massive trunk!View attachment 513206
Holy smokes Frank. Is that an Andersen flat? If so, that trunk is truly MASSIVE.

It is an Anderson flat! the view is of the narrow portion. You might enjoy my other collected sub alpine fir. A triple trunk under development. Picture is two years old, it has filled in beautifully since the cut back will post a new picture soon.IMG_1405.JPG

Beech ive been tinkering with. Two air layers taken from the central tree

It's got some filling in to do. There are plenty of dormant nodes on the main trunk. But the small right trunk could also fill in the negative space on that side. The initial tree cost just £15.

I think this is the last one of the year although there are a few that will keep me up at night until I get them tagged and bagged.

If this was a trophy elk hunt I believe it would make the “Boone and Crockett”.

Enjoy THE Fin. Hopefully he’ll be around a few more hundred years.

My Sierra Juniper has finally acclimated to Vancouver Island, healthy foliage, time for re-design. Has taken a few years after relocating it from my teacher in California. Has a nice double live vein to create interest on the front. Collected tree that both my son and I have worked on previously with Boon. Think I have enough to work with now. IMG_0901.JPG
