This came to me in 2014...I found it on Ebay while hunting for blue bonsai pots. No one bid against me...and I can't remember what I got it for...but felt the pot was worth more. The late Jim Smith or...was it Lewis? really tried to set me straight with how poor this material was. For years...I glared at it...then, just when I started to appreciate it. Raccoon destroyed the canopy. I had moved it to our stone wall off the back patio to have it cascade down it. We had a cookout that night...and the smells drew in the raccoon. They had torn significant branching...after really studying it over winter...at repot I removed what was left for the most part and went literati. Best thing that ever happened to it. It went from tolerated. To winning a Native New England Bonsai contest this past year.

2014 inage: when it arrived and the only leader had broke in shipping. Gosh...it has grown and developed a long way since then. I wasn't even in the hobby a year and that had me winged out over my only leader. I laugh at my early beginnings...

*Your photos are very artsy. It's all about enjoying ones journey.

I have a weakness for double trunk Mountain Hemlocks, this is a smaller more slender trunk version than I usually work with. I was attracted to the natural flow of the beginning movement in the two trunks.. Smaller trunk was reduced and heavily wired, larger trunk was reduced and wired in the upper portion. Although the tree has recovered nicely from collection several years ago, it will be several year before the foliage compacts for pad formation to fill in the design. Approximately 26 inches high. Still in a larger training pot.IMG_1459.JPG

In picking up Dario's thought I'd like to start this thread where,if you comment, you have to post a picture of one of your trees. You can post the same tree multiple times, but from different angles, or details about the tree or the container.
We will thus continue commenting on each others' trees and post more trees. :D

Here's my tree, Conocarpus erectus - Buttonwood:

That’s a nice button wood. I very much like these trees but they do not do well in the Northern California winter months.

Today’s tree, a friend of mine buys these as bushes and will separate the trunks to sell or gift. He gave me this one a few months ago with just a few sprouts. Long way to go but it’s going. Gonna have to carve a bit where the trunk was chopped. Does dead wood hold up on Fukien Tea?
