Here is one of my five year JBP, standing still waiting for the axe to fall and begin building taper and new sacrifice leader. Pleased with sufficient lower branching to move ahead, knowing the bud back will be strong with successive cut backs to come over the next three years.

Don't know if this will ever be any good but it's a fun little tree. This is a Virginia Pine that was growing behind my benches. I dug it up and grew it in a pond basket for 2 years and decided to put it in a pot last weekend. I think it will stay in this pot for a couple years and then I'll try to get it in a more fitting pot for a literati.
