The cooking thread

I forgot about this thread and should have posted this Buche de Noel that I did twice for Christmas. Chocolate cake rolled up with a date/mascarpone cream and kumquat marmalade. Chocolate drizzle, caramelized sugar shards for flames, and torched meringues for embers.

Congrats! It looks nice and crusty.
Now that I've gotten my husband and most of our neighbors addicted to my sourdough, we are going low carb for at least a few months. Last time I pulled this stunt was 25 years ago and some neighbors held a grudge for years.
