The Celtis (Hackberry) Scored Progression Contest

2 weeks and not a single sprout out of a dozen seeds each of three species. Anyone else having germination issues?
I have 4 seeds of reticulata that have sprouted out of 30ish that I planted on the 6th, first one popped up at 9 days. They're under a grow light that keeps it pretty toasty at like 80F 24/7. Don't know if that's helped or not, but might be a difference from your setup.

Mine are outside where they've been getting 80°+ and 90°+ days, with nights dropping into the upper 50s and lower 60s.

I am still waiting too. Hopefully they will germinate 🙏🏻

Sinensis here, so far only 5 out of 35 seeds have sprouted. No stratification, only scarification and planted one month ago. The first sprout was more than two weeks ago and yesterday I noticed the 5th.

Just grab some fresh celtis seedling and join us 😁. I digged up some seeds to see what they look like and they are same as were when I sowed them two months ago 😅😅
@minkes celtis grow like weeds here in South Africa, you’d be hard pressed to not spot a Celtis in almost very garden/sidewalk/crack in a pavement (that’s South African colloquial for sidewalk)

I have three species in seed beds. 7 out of 8 germinated in one, neither of my other 2 have any signs of sprouting.
