The Journal of the Azalea Society of America, “The Azalean” just featured an article of one of our own, @Glaucus , in it’s Summer 2022 edition (vol. 44 No.2). It can be viewed at https://www.azaleas.org/ for a small fee.
@Glaucus ’s article Development of New Satsuki Azalea Hybrids in Japan (The ‘Suisen’ - family) is a comprehensive review of latest satsuki soon (hopefully) to be coming out of Japan. These new satsuki came out as some of the best satsuki from the recent explosion of new varieties being developed in Japan. These satsuki have big, durable flowers with thicker petals and are now being imported into Europe, hopefully, soon to arrive in North America.
