Great, thanks for the info. What substrate did you use? Just trying to learn more about spruce, and get more details as I follow this one, as they’re fast becoming one of my favorite conifers. Really love the composition!

I’ve used a mix of akadama and semi fired akadama mainly due to the weather we get here and I had some knocking around the house. In all honesty I never been fond of spruce myself although is starting to grow on me also.

It seems that the tree has survived the winter work.



The wire is starting to bite though it would be a good idea to remove it.



Branches will need wire again later this year, new buds seem to be swelling.



This was in the way to become compost, though I’d do a basic shape as a experiment.
