Styling ideas?

The challenge will be reducing some overly heavy branches where there is limited interior growth and bringing the tree into a better scale. Possible by replacing with softer growth.
Looks like it has good bones to work with!

Yea, needs some heavy cut backs to get those back buds popping get a nice interior. Idk why I’m having such a hard time deciding what to get rid off on this guy but I’m not rushing it..

Yeah let it grow for now, and than come fall Id have a plan for the rest of it. Maybe you Jin the branches on the left and remove some thicker branches on your main line.

Yea man, I’ve just been patient but the Jin’s can definitely happen soon for kicks. The taper is pretty nice on the main trunk so you’re right I might just pick a spot or two to clean up the view of the main trunk

Is it a procumbens? I think it looks like good material. Specially if you are still exploring and learning. I think making sure it has plenty of sun, right amount of water and fertilizer is key. It looks like its health is declining. My procumbens all have fresh green tips and new foliage that is normal for healthy ones. My unhealthy one is dull and with little new spring growth and could possibly die due to trying to push it’s limits. Doing work to an unhealthy juniper is basically a death sentence. They need recovery years with strong growth and fertilization. Maybe you can get some photo’s in the sunlight but it seems like pretty dull foliage. In that case bringing its health back is first order of priority and action. While you continue finding its style.

It’s just an indoor photo, the colors definitely don’t look to nice in the pic lol i have several junipers, and they’re doing good, plenty of sun and everything.I haven’t done anything to this one but clean up the underside… it’s pretty healthy, lots of new buds poppin so I’m just being patient.
