Chris Cooley is a local potter in the D.C. area. He opened a gallery out in Leesburg, VA not long ago.
Made a trip out there and was very pleasantly surprised. Although he hardly makes bonsai pots, he does work in stoneware and some pretty good "bonsai" type glazes. He's also priced pretty reasonably (most of his work is under $150 for decent sized pots, vases and tekkuri.
If you're out that way, stop in. It's worth a look
