Starting a thread here for my Dwarf Crape Myrtle that I can update periodically. I purchased one from a nursery last spring that had multiple trunks. I was able to separate them when I repotted into bonsai soil and this one I thought had a nice trunk. I chopped some of the branches back and have let it grow pretty freely until today. These pictures are right after I did some light pruning to start shaping the pads and increase ramification. I might do some wiring in the future but for now the little branches are so delicate and short that think I’ll wait on that. I really like the way the bark looks on mature Crape Myrtle’s so I’m pretty excited to try and develop this one nicely.
Let me know what you think and if you have any tips for Crape Myrtle’s I would appreciate it!
